Since May 2023, MSS Recruitment and hello-jobs.com have been committed to building water pumps in Bodhgaya, one of the poorest regions in India, with the goal of providing clean and accessible water to underserved communities.

In Bodhgaya, over 55% of the population lives in slums without access to basic water infrastructure. Women and children often walk long distances to fetch water from unsafe sources. Our mission is to change this – one water pump at a time.

So far, with the help of our local partners, we have successfully constructed 8 water pumps, bringing safe water to 88 families (344 individuals). Our goal is to build 100 water pumps, each costing just USD $400 and capable of supporting about 11 families.

Clean water means better health, safety, and dignity. It means women no longer risk their safety while searching for water. It means children can go to school instead of carrying water.
